EMILY POPE

Emily Pope is an artist working across moving image, radio, printmaking, writing and publishing. Her practice is concerned with humour and satire, feminism, class politics, political rhetoric and experimental forms of broadcast and storytelling. She is particularly interested in using popular and accessible forms to examine power, ideology and contemporary life.


She is Director of Montez Press and curator for Montez Press Radio (London), and has written for publications including Elephant Magazine, Buffalo Zine, The Bittersweet Review, Bookworks, Arcadia Missa, The Freud Museum and Auto Italia. Her long-running video project The Sitcom Show (2016–present) explores life under austerity through the form of a failed sitcom.
